JOB TITLE: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Overview: As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting within our organization. You will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. This role requires strong technical expertise in accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience in accounting roles, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of effectively managing and mentoring accounting team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and performance metrics.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.Review and approve journal entries prepared by junior accounting staff, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, coordinating with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Prepare and review adjusting entries, accruals, and other necessary adjustments to close accounting periods.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting.Identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities through financial analysis and performance benchmarking.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads to establish financial targets and objectives.Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management on variances and deviations from the budget.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Assist in the coordination of audits, both internal and external, and address any findings or recommendations as needed.
  • Taxation and Regulatory Compliance: Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filing requirements.Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, and ensure adherence to new guidelines.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development and growth.Serve as a resource for accounting team members, answering questions and providing support on complex accounting issues.
