Position: Sort Control Centre Supervisor
Contract Type: Permanent / full-time (45 hours per week)
Location: Baginton, Coventry
Shift: Nights (Monday – Friday)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As Sort Control Centre Supervisor, you are responsible for managing the sort control team as well as running the sort facility’s mechanical and technical entities. The post holder will be responsible for distributing reports to all levels of management on sort performance and status. In this function, you will be supporting Hub Operations with the sort process as well as facilitating the end to end process of shipments within the Central Sorts for accurate and speedy connectivity to the next destination.

• Manage the timely processing of material to ensure cut of times for inbound/outbound processes are met
• Ensure all staff comply with SOPs
• Plan resource requirements in accordance with nightly and seasonal volumes changes as well as business growth
• Manages and coordinates hub operational activities within your zone to ensure the safe, timely and cost-effective processing of shipments.
• Manage the operational cost drivers to ensure P&L and cost targets are achieved.
• Within financial guidelines, plan, monitor, negotiate and control expenditure on areas such as overtime, sub- contracting, and suppliers.
• Coordinating recovery between Operations and Transport Managers and Engineering following automated system breakdown
• Responsible for 24/7 support during shift life cycle, including emergency call out
