PDCI is seeking a Sr. Consultant, Reimbursement and Data Insights to support the Strategic Consulting Pillar at PDCI. The successful candidate will provide seasoned expert input on a variety of market access projects for externally facing client projects; this person will be a central member of the team responsible for building client relationships and communicating PDCI expertise and insights to an external audience.

REQUIREMENTS (EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES):

  • Proactively advances job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; engaging in professional organizations.
  • A passion for pharmaceutical market access and data analyses – to improve access to innovative and specialized therapies.
  • Pharmaceutical or health-related industry experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with pharmaceutical secondary market research data in health care market research, market access or health economic outcomes capacities.
  • Familiarity with Canadian regulatory and health technology assessment organizations and private and public Health Technology Assessment and reimbursement processes.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical pricing and market analytics including business intelligence.
  • Experience with database management and maintenance, decision making, problem solving, process improvement, requirements analysis, attention to detail, developing standards, database performance tuning, data query and statistical analysis.
  • BSc in Life Sciences, Data Sciences or Data Analytics or equivalent, an MBA would be an asset.
  • Must be skilled in Power BI, Excel, mySQL, python and other data access and visualization tools as may be required.

Responsibilities:

As a seasoned professional in data analytics and product development, it is imperative this individual can assess, synthesize, develop and communicate clear insights and solutions arising out of complex questions and problems. This individual must be equally confident and comfortable working as a team member, as a leader and with internal and external clients.
Reporting to the Associate Director Data Innovation and Insights, the Senior Consultant provides strategic data analytics expertise for clients, the Strategic Consulting pillar, and broader PDCI teams. The role is also expected to collaborate cross-functionally with the broader BioPharma and Payer Solutions Division as part of planned and coordinated data strategies addressing internal and external client needs.

Data Insights and Modeling:

  • Responsible for developing, modeling, analyzing and providing insights on pharmaceutical and health industry data; and to proactively monitor and forecast industry trends and benchmarks.
  • Accountable for maintaining and developing PDCI proprietary Market Access databases, delivering insights into industry various outputs of market access performance; and leading development of customized data models to advance PDCI offerings and client insights.
  • Leads database and model upgrades by evaluating, recommending and improving design and structure to anticipate and meet PDCI and client needs.
  • Designing database management tools; answering questions, and training end users including clients and internal (McKesson / PDCI) stakeholders on use of subscriber tools.
  • Responsible for ensuring secure database by preparing access and control policies and procedures; implementing disaster recovery procedures.
  • Provides strategic advice to the Associate Director for application design by contributing expertise to applications, operations, and technical support teams.

Data Communications and Presentations:

  • Develop and communicate compelling data insights and visualizations of information and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, contribute to, and/or deliver presentations and proposals that advance PDCI strategic data assets, our insights capabilities and business solutions for clients.

Strategic Guidance:

  • The Sr. Consultant will be expected to provide strategic guidance from PDCI and/or McKesson data assets to PDCI and cross-functional team members and to clients.
  • Leads and/or collaborates with teams to develop industry related analysis on behalf of clients, PDCI and cross-functional team members for innovative benchmarking, analysis and forecasting of future market trends.
  • Leads secondary research to develop, communicate and advise on benchmarks of industry related information.
  • Expectations include:
  • Synthesizing complex data and providing clear insights and guidance to internal/external stakeholders from data analyses used in strategic decision-making.
  • Recommending solutions to new and complex problems.
  • Developing innovative strategies from data insights, for launch, market access, and reimbursement advice.
  • Quantifying the performance and competitive landscape for a variety of pharmaceutical and health-related markets and evaluating the potential impact of changes and reports on economic and other forecasts that affect the industry from a pricing, reimbursement and market access perspective.
