Dates: June 24 - August 23, 2024
Hours of Work: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Hourly Wage: $16.55 - $17.00 /hour
We are looking for a Help Desk Summer Student to support our Technology department during July and August. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in an educational environment within the Technology department. The Help Desk Student will help ensure classrooms (both physical and online) are ready and operational for the commencement of the new academy year.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Update inventory, enter data into spreadsheets and/or Service Desk asset management system
  • Unpack, prepare and deploy electronic equipment
  • Test, troubleshoot and update classroom equipment including projectors, interactive white boards, audio equipment and remote learning tools
  • Assist with mass configuration of cart devices (iPad & MacBook)
  • Provide technical support to the Network Administrator as necessary
  • Move, lift and deliver equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Knowledge of Mac and PC operating systems and hardware
  • Knowledge of Cisco networking an asset
  • Technical expertise (Spreadsheets and ticketing systems)
  • Keen interest and understanding of evolving technologies
  • Effective team-player with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multitask, organize, attend to detail and problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
  • Knowledge of proper lifting procedures
