JOB SUMMARY

Provide office support services within a campus unit to include organizing and preparing correspondence, reports and other documentation; scheduling meetings and events; file maintenance, and related administrative activities; and assisting customers with their service needs. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. JOB SUMMARY

This position will serve CEISMC¿s Programs for Enrichment and Accelerated Knowledge in STEM (PEAKS), and Horizons at Georgia Tech summer programs. Summer PEAKS and Horizons GT both run through June and July. Applicants must have prior experience working or volunteering with K-12 aged students. Applicants should have leadership experience, experience in providing quality customer service, and the ability to speak professionally with students, parents and instructors. The CEISMC Extended Care Staff is a valued member of a small team running Summer PEAKS/Horizons GT.
The Extended Care Group Leaders report directly to a designated Expanded Learning Programs Outreach Manager.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed, potentially including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Up to two years of job related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma and at least one year of college.
Experience: Prefer the candidates have at least one year experience working or volunteering
with students ages K-12. Prefer students that are familiar with the Georgia Tech campus.

SKILLS

This job requires skills in general office administration to include document preparation and processing, records management, event planning and organization, spoken/written communications and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task. Skill in basic office related computer applications is required.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

The CEISMC Extended Care Staff role will include, but not limited to: 1) checking students out with parents when they arrive to campus, 2) leading groups of students through previously determined simple STEM and SEL extended care activities, and 3) communicating with supervisors and/or parents about students¿ performance during the day camp.
The Extended Care Staff must welcome positive direction and suggestions, possess a strong proactive work ethic, be customer service oriented, and willing to learn how to direct to small and large groups. The Extended Care Staff is the direct contact for parents on a daily basis and represents CEISMC. Activities and decisions are varied in nature, which to some degree requires independent action and judgement in solving common problems. Some physical activities are involved such as walking long distances and transporting material boxes.
