Our mission is to connect game studios and publishers with their communities by harnessing the power of UGC. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN CANDIDATES?

We are looking for humble, enthusiastic, self-starters who take ownership over what they create and will help us shape and improve the company. Even if you don’t match the qualifications exactly, if you’re confident you can do the job, or can grow into the role, please throw your hat in the ring.
For this role, we need someone who is an experienced developer with great problem solving skills and an eye for detail.

We are looking for an experienced developer with the following:

  • 5 years of Unity Engine/C# experience with a solid understanding of good design and architecture.
  • A basic understanding of HTTP Requests and cross-platform development requirements.
  • Experience working in a remote team using agile practices and task-management software.
  • Experience with ClickUp or similar project management tools.
  • Excitement to dig in and experiment, with real attention to detail.

It would be awesome if you also have:

  • Worked on or helped maintain an open-source C++ library or plugin
  • Implemented for SteamWorks, GOG Galaxy, or a current-gen console
  • Experience building UI with Unity Engine
  • An understanding of the unique challenges UGC presents us and similar businesses like Youtube and SteamA passion for video games

Responsibilities:

You will be part of a team working on our Unity Plugin and C# SDK which assist game developers to integrate the mod.io service in their game:

  • Maintain and improve our Unity Plugin and C# SDK that provides user, download, and request management services and provides a front-end to our REST API service
  • Work alongside our core REST API and web developers to provide insightful feedback and suggestions on how we can improve from the perspective of game development.
  • Manage feedback and communication with partners and other developers to foster a responsive and task-oriented support system.
  • Test and implement your design on Linux, Mac, Windows, consoles and mobile to create a cross-platform solution.
  • Create a defensive, robust solution that fails gracefully, caches smartly to minimize API calls and provides useful logging to allow developers to debug.
  • Keep your house clean, your code will be open sourced on GitHub and must be well documented for our community to fork and adapt as they need.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop code for the plugin and SDK in line with our agile process including testing
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress and any issues
  • Support games to onboard by answering questions from game developers and building required (agreed) functionality
  • Provide 2nd level support
  • Act as an escalation point for Security & Cloud/Infrastructure incidents
  • Work closely with development teams and project to assist with their security and operational asks
