Our client is seeking a Water Engineer with water and wastewater infrastructure experience to be based in our Water team in Melbourne
You’ll work as part of their experienced team on ambitious and interesting local and international projects, allowing you a balance of technical work, project management, construction phase involvement, operation support, business development and client engagement.
While working with the client’s region’s unique water resources, you’ll also have access to the wider professional development and multi-disciplinary opportunities offered by a leading global consultancy.
Our client has a long-standing relationship with the water sector, municipal councils, state government, international aid organisations and broader industry, and they strive to understand and deliver on their clients’ needs for improved community outcomes.

This diverse and exciting position will see you involved in:

  • Producing designs, reports and technical documents for water infrastructure projects that are crucial to supporting local communities including pipelines, sewers, storages, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Supporting water and wastewater development projects in the international aid environment
  • Joining a committed, multi-disciplinary group, eager to contribute to significant projects for the region and further afield

What you will need to succeed:

  • Ideal candidates will possess an Engineering degree (Civil or Mechanical or Process Engineering) or solid work experience in hydraulic infrastructure design and project coordination.
  • You must be registered as a Member of Engineers Australia and willing to obtain chartership within a reasonable agreed time frame.
  • With a strong background in project and design management, you will have demonstrated proficiency in designing bulk water infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, and reservoirs.
  • Proven experience in water and wastewater hydraulics, treatment systems, sewer network design, and dewatering projects is essential.
  • You will have experience of engineering software (such as WaterGems/SewerGEMs, EPANET, GIS, PumpBase, Plant3D).
  • Key to these opportunities is excellent communication, organisational, planning and time management skills. With the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local authorities, external consultants, client representatives, and internal teams.
