Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The YMCA of the East Bay is seeking an energetic and dedicated Recruiter to join our team. As a crucial member of the ECI Workforce Development department, the Recruiter will play a pivotal role in supporting the YMCA’s mission to serve communities through our Early Childhood Impact program. The successful candidate will lead recruitment efforts to attract diverse and qualified individuals who share our passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young children and their families. These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Mission and Policies of the YMCA of the East Bay. The Workforce Development Recruiter delivers high-quality recruiting and onboarding services and supports the ECI employee development processes in an environment of continuous program improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration preferred. BA/BS in a related field considered
  • Minimum of one year experience including recruitment, workforce/job training, professional development. Proven experience as a Recruiter or in a similar HR role
  • Experience serving dual language and immigrant populations, non-traditional college students, first generation college students, and low-income workers is preferred
  • Familiarity with recruitment software, data management, and applicant tracking systems (ATS). UKG experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Valid California Driver’s Licence/proof of auto insurance/annual DMV check required
  • Criminal record clearance and health requirements that include physical exam, TB screen and immunizations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, databases and other computer programs

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies aligned with the Early Childhood Impact program’s goals.
  2. Post and maintain postings for open positions, as directed.
  3. Develop relationship-based collaborations with schools and community organizations to hire staff that mirror the communities served in the ECI Programs.
  4. Coordinate with Human Resources, Workforce Development and Operations to ensure appropriate staffing and on-boarding of new staff.
  5. Support Screening and interview process, as appropriate.
  6. Coordinate applicant reviews and schedules for on-boarding new staff, including transitions into work assignments.
  7. Respond to inquiries regarding status of job openings/postings.
  8. Market the program to potential employees using various outreach strategies.
  9. Research new and updated strategies, methods, and platforms for e-recruiting potential staff.
  10. Foster positive relationships with community partners to enhance the YMCA’s presence in the local talent pool.
  11. Participate in continuation/applications/data collection for Workforce Development grants.
  12. Conduct thorough candidate assessments, evaluating skills, experience, and alignment with the YMCA’s mission.
  13. Special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
