ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in industrial relations, law, human resources or other relevant degree.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment-related legislative and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience providing sound and thoughtful advice, including the preparation of reports, briefing papers and similar correspondence with the ability to communicate technical concepts in practical terms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders to design and develop effective and efficient methods of providing insights and advice.

Responsibilities:

This is a great time to join our team! We have a big future focused agenda to get involved in!
Your previous experience as a workplace relations specialist or HR generalist will enable you to successfully partner with the People & Culture team and your key stakeholders to deliver operational and pragmatic workplace relations advice, as well as support the upcoming workplace relations agenda for the College.
You will work closely with the Workplace Relations Manager to work across and be involved in a broad range of matters which are not specifically confined to the traditional WPR/IR model. This includes playing a key role in enterprise agreement negotiations, participating as a member of consultative committees, working directly with teams to identify and implement solutions and contributing to the strategic direction of workplace and employee relations in our organisation.
And best of all, this is a low conflict role with a focus on workplace relations, over industrial relations… Working in partnership with and empowering (through coaching and educating) stakeholders to drive outcomes in their business units is a key focus of this role.
