Role Introduction
Are you a proactive and energetic Registered Nurse with a passion for making a real difference to improve the outcomes of children, young people and families? Alongside this do you also have an interest in reducing oral health inequalities, by focusing on oral health promotion to improve the oral health of children in Leeds? If the answer is yes, why not apply for our newly advertised Band 5 0-19 Staff Nurse post. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 registered nurse to join the 0-19 PHINS, due to additional Public Health Funding which is directed at improving Oral Health Outcomes for children and young people. This permanent band 5 post will focus initially on working within an Oral Health band 5 role for up to 8 months and will then rotate into the existing band 5 0-19 Staff Nurse role.
The successful applicant will initially be working alongside the Oral Health Promotion Leads delivering a wide range of health promotion activities including targeted 1:1 intervention work with children and families. The successful applicant will also build links with local schools and other key partner agencies supporting the oral health agenda work. Following your initial 8 months you will receive preceptorship into the generic 0-19 staff nurse post which involves the promotion of health and well-being for preschool/school aged children, young people and families in a variety of settings. This role has potential for development into the SCPHN role on acceptance to the relevant course.
