REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be a speaker of the Nłeʔkepmxcin Language.
  • Possess a First Nations Language teacher certificate for Nłeʔkepmxcin, or be eligible for this certificate.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Nłeʔkepmx and/or Syilx culture.
  • Training and experience working with grade-level students.
  • Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments, and learning outcomes for student needs.
  • Valid BC Teaching certificate or eligible for Letter of Permission.

  • A commitment to supporting a variety of learning needs.
  • Experience/training in supporting the social-emotional learning needs of students.
  • A commitment to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

    The starting annual salary for this full-time teacher position ranges from $60,090 - $109,520 , with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
