Crawford Bay School requires a teacher for a combined grade 3 / 4 class , 5 mornings per week. The position is 0.7 10 FTE from Monday – Friday, 8 :25AM – 12:00PM September 2, 2025- November 28, 2025 or until return of incumbent.
School District #8 (Kootenay Lake) is located in the southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada and serves the Lower Kootenay Band and the communities of Kaslo, Meadow Creek, Crawford Bay, Creston, Wynndel, Yahk, Nelson, Salmo, South Slocan, Winlaw, Slocan, and the surrounding rural areas. The School Board Office is located in Nelson, B.C. Our schools are dispersed geographically and range in size and composition:
Salary Range; $63,367 – $111,488 per year, in accordance with the current SD8–Kootenay Lake / KLTF Collective Agreement. Placement on the salary grid is based on qualifications and years of teaching experience as evaluated by the BC Teacher Qualification Service (TQS).
JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking a teacher who is highly skilled in teaching in a multi-age learning environment and is committed to creating a classroom community of safety, trust, respect and compassion , centered on engaging and differentiated lessons . Teachers interested in th is position practice pedagogy that is trauma-informed, community - focused, and emphasizes educating the whole child. This class is shared with another teacher who covers other subjects in the afternoons
