Name of the position: QA Test Lead Location: Remote No. of resources needed: 01 Mode: Contract (6 Months ) Years of experience: 8+ Years Shift: UK shift (2pm to 11pm) Role Overview We are seeking a QA Test Lead to oversee the quality assurance strategy for a high-stakes application modernization project. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the transition from a legacy Visual RPG system to a modern .NET/Angular stack is seamless, secure, and functionally identical (or improved). You will lead a team of offshore test engineers, coordinate with onshore leadership, and be responsible for the end-to-end validation of complex healthcare workflows. Key Responsibilities QA Strategy & Planning: Define the overall test strategy, including manual, automated, regression, and security testing phases. Legacy-to-Modern Validation: Develop specialized test cases to ensure that complex business logic from the legacy SQL/RPG environment is correctly reflected in the new .NET/Angular architecture. Test Automation Leadership: Drive the implementation of automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress) to reduce manual regression cycles for the 8-person offshore development team. Healthcare Compliance Testing: Ensure the application adheres to HIPAA and HITRUST standards, specifically focusing on data privacy, audit trails, and PHI handling. Defect Management: Lead the triage process, working closely with the Project Manager and Solution Architect to prioritize fixes based on business impact. Reporting & Metrics: Provide detailed quality dashboards to stakeholders, tracking execution progress, defect density, and pass/fail rates. Required Technical Skills Experience: 8+ years in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years in a Lead capacity. Automation: Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET-based automation frameworks or modern JavaScript tools (Cypress/Playwright). API Testing: Expert knowledge of testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or automated integration tests. Database Testing: Proficiency in SQL Server. You must be able to write complex queries to validate data integrity and backend calculations during the migration. Tooling: Expertise in Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar ALM tools for test case management and bug tracking.
