Description DEPARTMENT: PACKAGING JOB TITLE: FORKLIFT OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY: Operate forklift on the packaging floor in a safe and efficient manner. PRODUCTION STANDARDS: · Keep lines provided with proper supply of materials on a timely basis. · Properly inspect and maintain fluid levels of forklift. · Communicate with line operators, crewleaders, and other forklift operators. · Able to plan ahead. · Need to be extremely safety conscious. · Use correct materials. · Able to identify defective materials. · Forklift operators can only use the battery that corresponds to their forklift number. · Required to sort pallets by size and vendor in their assigned area of the packing floor. · Other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Must work in a sitting position for extended periods of time, safety glasses are required. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. HELPFUL PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Previous forklift driver experience.

Responsibilities

Operate the forklift on the packaging floor safely and efficiently while ensuring that production lines are supplied with materials. Communicate effectively with line operators and maintain the forklift in good working condition.
