Description DEPARTMENT: SHIPPING JOB TITLE: WAREHOUSEMEN JOB SUMMARY: Perform various warehouse functions on a shift basis. PRODUCTION STANDARDS: · Maintain proper documentation of ALL product movement. Assigning warehouse locations for finished goods/and deliveries · Work on own initiative after receiving verbal/written instruction. · Operate a forklift/slipsheeter in a safe and efficient manner. · Properly check and maintain fluid levels of forklift/slipsheeter. · Take damaged cases to the proper location. · Provide relief of drivers as needed. · Stage orders accurately and in an efficient manner. · Periodically load as needed. · Maintain partial pallet storage policy. Giving direction to palletizer drivers Managing the Release area Constant communication with the supervisor Assist with office duties as needed – running pick lists, mapping orders, printing BOL’s, answering phones, filing, etc · Other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Fast paced area. Exposure to outside elements. Safety glasses and earplugs are required at all times. Safety gloves for re-fueling. Must have a current forklift operator license, and successfully complete bi-annual forklift training. Good math skills, and be able to use a calculator. Must be computer proficient. Must have knowledge of various QAD functions. Must have knowledge of warehouse layout, along with pallet and case counts. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must possess the ability to learn, understand and use the Inventory Control Radio Frequency (RF) system as it pertains to the job’s required production standards. HELPFUL PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Forklift driver. Shipping/warehouse experience.
