EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary degree in Indigenous Studies is preferred
  • Post-secondary education in a program with an emphasis on written work is required, and working knowledge of APA 7th edition
  • Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Be a self-motivator who can work to achieve results while ensuring attention to detail and compliance with reporting requirements

HOURS AND TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hours will be about 13 hours per week for a maximum of 115 hours during the contract
  • Must have a stable and reliable internet connection
  • Computer with Windows operating system version 7 or higher
  • OR MacOS version High Sierra 10.13 or higher
  • OR Chromebook version 80 or higher
  • Processor/Memory: PC – Dual core 2.4 Ghz CPU with minimum 8GB RAM
  • OR MAC – Intel/AMD processor with minimum 8GB RAM
  • Web browser: Mozilla Firefox v20.0 or higher
  • OR Google Chrome v25.0 or higher
  • Plug-ins: JavaScript enabled and Third Party Cookies enabled
  • Webcam with a resolution of 800x600 or better
  • Internet connection: Cable Modem, DLS or better with minimum 300kbps download, 250kbps upload
Responsibilities
  • Attend course orientation on April 28th, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm.
  • Attend midterm May 30, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
  • Attend Final exam June 25th time TBD (3 hours)
  • Read course outline by first day of classes
  • Be present in the course everyday to answer student emails, and emails from the Professor
  • Co-host APA 7 Q&A for students between May 5th – May 8th during regular work hours of 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Answer student questions through regular email communications
  • Provide support to students in preparation for midterms and final exams
  • Have assignments marked within a restricted timeframe of 3 days
  • Adherence to working within strict deadlines
  • Ensure all weekly content has been read by Monday of each week to answer student questions and adequately mark student assignments
