Req ID: 134697 Remote Position: NoRegion: Asia Country: Malaysia State/Province: Johor City: Johor Bahru Summary The Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Process is responsible for designing, developing, deploying and optimizing processes for manufacturing to achieve quality cost and delivery goals for Celestica and its customers products.Detailed Description Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. . Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians. Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods. Estimate costs, production times, or staffing requirements for new designs. Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures. Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing Knowledge/Skills/Competencies 8D & PFMEA DFMA Manufacturing with Process & Troubleshooting Experience Sound Technical Know How in Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and Control Device will be added advantages. High level of accountability; takes product ownership seriously and strive to complete tasks within the critical timeframe given. Good interpersonal skills for engagement with cross functional teams. Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required. Typical Experience 5 to 8 years of related experience; Typical Education Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
