Description:

District Position Inclusive Education 1.0 CONT Teacher Psychologist (located at the School Board Office). Please refer to the Job Description Attached. Responsibilities Conducts psycho-educational assessments to identify student strengths and needs and recommend appropriate interventions and supports Collaboratively consults with school-based teams, District teams (e.g., Inclusive Education, Safe Schools, Curriculum Transformation), parents/guardians, and community agencies (e.g., Community Living BC, MCFD) regarding student strengths and needs, their educational implications, and ways to enhance learning and well-being Makes recommendations to the District Principal of Inclusive Education Services regarding student eligibility for specific BC Ministry of Education categories Assists in the development of student IEPs as appropriate Provides guidance to Inclusion Support Teachers regarding the use of Level B assessment tools and provide in-service training in this area Provides additional in-service for educators and support staff as required Stays current with educational and psychological research to inform practiceEducation and Experience Doctorate or masters degree in school/educational psychology or related field with a focus on school psychology Registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia or eligible for registration Knowledge of the BC Ministry of Education Inclusive Education Services Manual of Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines Possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle for travel between schools The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $58,635 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
