1:1 LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT - AUTISM & ADHD SUPPORT - HERTFORDSHIRE

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in Hertfordshire who:

• Has previous experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, or other special educational needs (school-based experience preferred).
• Possesses patience, empathy, and resilience to provide consistent and calm support.
• Can build strong relationships with both the pupil and wider school staff.
• Has good communication skills to liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
• Ideally has knowledge of strategies such as visual aids, sensory tools, and behaviour regulation approaches.

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in Hertfordshire, you will:

• Provide consistent one-to-one support for a child with Autism and ADHD within a mainstream classroom setting.
• Implement strategies to help the child stay engaged, focused, and able to access learning.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning plans and behaviour support.
• Foster positive relationships and promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Support the child in managing transitions, routines, and any challenges that may arise during the school day.
