SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT – 1:1 SUPPORT (HACKNEY, EAST LONDON)

  • Contract: Full time, long term
  • Start: September 2025
  • Salary: £90–£105 per day
    Are you a caring, proactive individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs? This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate, or someone with a degree considering a career in education, to work as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in a highly supportive and inclusive environment.
    This role involves working 1:1 with a pupil who uses a wheelchair, supporting both their learning and personal care needs, and helping them access the curriculum alongside their peers.

The Role

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil who uses a wheelchair, including personal care when required.
  • Assist with learning activities, behaviour support, and social development.
  • Help deliver personalised education and therapy plans.
  • Encourage independence, communication, and life skills.
  • Prepare and organise resources to support engaging lessons.
  • Contribute to planning, reviews, and wider team discussions.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree (Psychology, Maths, Science, or related subjects are especially welcome).
  • GCSEs in English & Maths (grade 4–9 or equivalent).
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive, flexible attitude.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care when required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships.
