OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with SEND, with a focus on fostering a positive learning environment for children. This role involves working closely with students to enhance their academic skills, build confidence, and support their individual learning needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong understanding of special education principles is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to students and parents alike.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and create a trusting relationship that fosters a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students.

    To be eligible for this role, you must have access to a reliable car and be able to carry out sessions across Newcastle and Tyneside in community centres and children’s homes. You will be working 1:1 with session lengths dependent on childrens needs.
    Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
    Contract length: 9 months
    Pay: £15.00-£25.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 6 – 20 per week

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one sessions tailored to the specific needs of each student.
  • Develop and implement session plans that align with educational standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student performance and areas for improvement.
  • Assist students in developing study skills, organisational skills, and self-confidence in their abilities.
  • Create a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
