JOB SUMMARY: The Environmental Service Worker is to maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly facility environment; keep a daily QI log. The Environmental Service Worker reports directly to Director Environmental Service. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Education: 1. High school diploma or higher preferred. 2. Licensure/Certification: 1. None 3. Work Experience: 1. On job training RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES: 1. Cleaning of surgery, out-patient areas, inpatient areas, all public areas, and offices by cleaning vertical and horizontal surfaces. Occasional light maintenance duties. 2. Cleaning of draperies, cubicles and blinds. 3. Maintain floors by either dust mopping; wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, running auto scrubber, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets. Maintain and organize all floor care equipment, cleaning carts, trash carts and all other equipment. 4. Removal and transport of regular waste, infectious waste and disposal in the proper method. Removal and transport of soil linen and put in proper receptacle. 5. Document the procedure involved in the disposal of hospital waste products, and ensure that the right procedure in line with the standard practice of the hospital, is followed. 6. Response to code red, code green, code pink, and other emergency situations. 7. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED STAFF COMPETENCIES: 1.
