LONG-TERM 1:1 EYFS TEACHING ASSISTANT ROLE IN SHIREBROOK

We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate 1:1 EYFS Teaching Assistant to take on a long-term, full-time role at a welcoming primary school in Shirebrook.

The role will involve working closely with a child in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who has very complex needs, including:

• Complex ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
• Non-verbal communication needs
• Emotional outbursts
• Suspected Pica

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

• Providing 1:1 support for a child with complex additional needs in EYFS
• Using tailored strategies to support communication, learning, and emotional regulation
• Assisting with personal care and ensuring the child’s safety and well-being
• Implementing strategies advised by SENCOs and external specialists
• Supporting social interaction, independence, and engagement through structured activities
• Building a trusting relationship with the child and maintaining consistency throughout the school day
