Department: Loss Prevention Title: Loss Prevention Agent / Loss Prevention Lead Direct Report: Area LP Manager (ALPM) District LP Manager (DLPM) JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. Minimum Educational Requirements: • High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Minimum experience: • 1 year of retail loss prevention or law enforcement experience required. • State certification required, where applicable. 3. Physical requirements: • Must be able to stand and walk sales floor for 8 hours at a time. • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.(Minimum) • Must be available to work nights, weekends and rotating shifts. • Must have reliable transportation in order to travel to a near by store that is not public transportation accessible. • Must be able to follow directions and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Reduction of External Exposures and Losses- 80% • Apprehension of shoplifters / recovery of Company assets, as set forth in Company apprehension guidelines. • Prevention of shoplifting incidents / recovery of Company assets, as set forth in Company prevention guidelines. • Audit compliance of external loss prevention standards. • Identify external exposures and recommend solutions. • Report all observed / suspected exposures pertaining to internal theft. Training and Awareness- 10% • Serve as a member of “The Shrinkage Committee” • Participate in the promotion of shrinkage awareness of all associates. • Create an environment of “ownership” among all associates. Operations and Safety- 10% • Complete reports and assigned duties in a timely manner. • Assist management to maintain operational compliance. • Ensure a safe working and shopping environment. • Report all violations of operational standards to store management and immediate supervisor. Responsibilities
The Loss Prevention Agent/Lead is responsible for reducing external exposures and losses through the apprehension of shoplifters and the recovery of company assets. They also participate in training and awareness initiatives and assist in maintaining operational compliance and safety standards.
