The Advanced Digital Innovation Center (ADIC) at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC), located in Lecce, is looking for talented, motivated and proactive Junior Research Associate in Data Management in the framework of the PNRR HPC SPOKE 4 project.

REQUIREMENTS

• M.Sc. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent fields
• 3+ years’ experience in scientific software development and parallel programming
• Excellent knowledge of Python programming language
• Good knowledge of data management systems, and DBMS design
• Good knowledge of data delivery technologies and platforms (e.g. ERDDAP)
• Relevant experience with scripting languages like Bash and Python
• Experience in software development and software version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Experience with the Linux environment.
• Knowledge of Python scientific libraries and tools for data analysis (i.e., numpy, pandas, Jupyter notebooks).
• Knowledge of NetCDF data formats and related tools
• Experience with HPC systems is a plus
• Fluency in both written and spoken English language

ROLE

The Junior Research Associate is responsible for supporting research activities in Data Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Junior Research Associate will be involved in the:

• Development and improvement of data management solutions and strategies for handling heterogenous climate/environmental data sources.
• Drafting of scientific reports and technical documentation related to the developed solutions.
