The Communication & Science Outreach office, located in Lecce, is looking for a new position of Communication specialist, responsible for supporting the CMCC Communication and Media Office.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in communication/dissemination/editorial strategies and plans;
  • A Master’s degree in communication/social sciences, scientific disciplines, or humanities with demonstrated ability to bridge scientific and communication domains;
  • Experience in science communication, with a special focus on climate change-related topics
  • Experience in the organization and promotion of online and in-person events;
  • Attitude/Experience to create content for a multiplatform communication strategy;
  • Familiarity with the latest tools and platforms, including web, social media, content management systems, and graphic design software;
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Experience with CMS, with a specific focus on WordPress (Visual Composer, Elementor);
  • Experience with mailing distribution tools (Mailup, Mailchimp, etc.);
  • Experience with office tools like GSuite and good attitude in working with teams; Working knowledge (proficiency – level C) of English;
  • Strong attitude to remote teamwork within a geographically distributed team, with availability to attend meetings both in person and online;
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • Willing to travel in Italy and abroad.
Responsibilities

ROLE

As part of the Communication and Science Outreach Office, with a focus on institutional and strategic communication, the Communication Specialist will support CMCC in enhancing its visibility among multiple stakeholders, strengthening its key role in the international climate research landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Communication Specialist will:

  • contribute to the development and implementation of CMCC’s institutional communication strategy;
  • write, edit, and proofread communication materials, including texts and scripts for the CMCC website, newsletters, intranet, infographics, and multimedia;
  • coordinate and execute the preparation of a wide range of communication materials (newsletters, reports, visual products such as infographics, booklets, presentations, etc) and their dissemination, including through mailing distribution lists;
  • plan, organize, and support online and in-person strategic events;
  • disseminate the CMCC’s activities, scientific research, and its outcomes, translating complex technical information into compelling messages;
  • work closely with CMCC’s research areas to ensure that the Center’s public image and communication strategy accurately reflect the quality, themes, and priorities of its scientific work.
