Location: Plumpton College, Lewes
Job Type: 0.6 FTE - 3 days a week (22.5h)
Salary: £34,463-£39,943 pro rata (scale point 28-34)

Qualifications:

  • Level 7 in Access Arrangements Assessment, or equivalent.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or support for individuals with SEND.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will conduct assessments for Exam Access Arrangements and provide academic tuition and guidance to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will work collaboratively with our Education Pathways team and cross-college curriculum teams to implement effective support strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments for Exam Access Arrangements within the Education Pathways (14-16) provision.
  • Provide 1-1 and small group academic support to students with specific learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate with the Education Pathways team and other curriculum teams to implement support strategies.
  • Stay updated on assistive technology and learning resources available for students.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to 14-16 students with SEND and assist other staff members with SEND paperwork.

Qualifications:

  • Level 7 in Access Arrangements Assessment, or equivalent.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or support for individuals with SEND.
  • Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of assistive technology and learning resources.
