Canpac Marine Services Inc., is based in the Port of Vancouver, Canada and has been providing marine services to inland, coastal, and offshore sectors since 1965. Canpac operates a fleet of specialized vessels ranging from 150t to 3000t conducting material delivery and subsea inspection, repair, maintenance and construction of marine assets from surface to 6,000 meters of water depth.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 150 Ton Master Boat Captain to safely and efficiently operate our vessels along the BC coast The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of maritime regulations, navigation, and vessel maintenance, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. The Captain will be responsible for the overall safety of the vessel, crew, safe navigation and for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Transport Canada Master Limited Certificate (150 Gross Tonnage or higher).
• Valid Marine Medical Certificate.
• Valid Radio Operator’s Certificate (ROC-MC).
• MED training
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Captain or Mate on vessels of similar size and type.
• Proven ability to safely and effectively operate and maintain a vessel.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian maritime regulations and navigation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Knowledge of vessel maintenance and repair procedures.
