JOB DESCRIPTION Who we're looking for We are seeking a skilled Food Services Associate with counter service experience to join our Hamilton Health Sciences Volunteer Association Food Services team on a full-time basis (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at Courtyard Cafe, Hamilton General Hospital. This is primarily a cash & coffee shift, but may be required to work all food services stations based on operational needs. We are looking for positive, energetic employees who are passionate about providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced hospital café environment with strong customer service skills. What you'll do * Greet & welcome customers in a warm and friendly manner. * Serve customers, take and complete their orders at our various stations within the cafes including but not limited to cash, coffee, sandwiches/wraps, the grill etc. * Be pleasant and alert to customer needs at each station. * Communicate clearly, effectively and politely with co-workers to ensure operations run smoothly. * Handle and prepare food items while utilizing safe food handling and cleaning practices. * Communicate customer requests and concerns and any suggestions to the management team. * Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained and organized. * Prepare products accurately, while following all recipes, health and safety standards and guidelines when needed. * Process customer transactions and maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout shift. * Work as a team member to assure constant and consistent quality, service, cleanliness and value to each customer. * Perform other specific duties as directed by the management team. * Follow the Volunteer Association policies and procedures.
