Assistant Golf Professional provides technical and managerial supervision of the facilities and staff as outlined. To assist in the promotion and execution of all golfing activities and operations. Starting Pay: $24.04 - $28.55 depending on experience Schedule: Full time, 40-hours per week Benefits: Full Benefits; health, dental, and life insurance, paid time off and paid holidays, vision reimbursement plan Retirement: Utah Retirement Systems, pension and/or 401(k) Posting Close Date: May close anytime after January 26, 2026 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the management of the facility and staff. Understand totally the operation of the golf shop and to be able to step in and handle said operation in the absence of the Head Golf Professional. Help train and supervise golf staff. Provide a sound teaching program to the golfing public. Teach golf lessons to satisfy learning demand of customers. Help in developing and maintaining good relations with the public. Express themselves clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to facilitate the exchange of ideas and concepts with the public and golf staff. Operate, maintain and clean golf carts so that cart users have a favorable impression about the course. Perform mechanical maintenance duties on carts so they remain operational. Encourage participation in golf activities such as tournaments, club associations and leagues. Ability to understand, articulate and communicate the golf course philosophy while answering phones and assisting with direct public contact, scheduling and accepting monies for course play. Perform various clubhouse, driving range and golf course cleaning assignments as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises Starters, Cart Attendants and Rangers, including regular and temporary staff. Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of USGA rules, handicapping, course rating system, and the mechanics of the golf swing. Ability to coordinate and expedite golf activities. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with golf course staff and the public. Maintain a congenial rapport with all those he/she comes in contact with. Ability to react to change productively. Computer, social media, marketing, interactive abilities helpful. Education and/or Experience Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. Two years experience working in a golf shop under a professional. Language Skills Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with golf course staff and the public in person, on phones, and other electronic mediums. Foreign language skills helpful. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must possess a valid Utah Drivers License. Registered Associate or Member of the PGA of America preferred.
