Position Summary: AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Pascagoula, MS that is the leading provider of quality construction, manufacturing, engineering, repair, and conversion products and services to the marine industry. The 1st Class Crane Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various cranes to move materials, equipment, and structural components throughout the shipyard. Essential Functions: Operate cranes (e.g., overhead, gantry, mobile, or tower cranes) to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment Perform lifts in support of ship construction, repair, and maintenance operations Read and interpret lift plans, load charts, and work instructions Conduct pre-operational inspections and ensure equipment is in safe working condition Communicate effectively with riggers, signalmen, and supervisors to ensure safe lifts Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures Maintain awareness of surroundings to avoid hazards and ensure safe operations Assist with general yard support as needed Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience as a 1st Class Crane Operator in a shipyard environment (required) Proven experience operating cranes in marine/shipbuilding settings Ability to read and understand load charts and lift plans Strong understanding of rigging practices and hand signals Must be able to pass an in-person written test Ability to work night shift and overtime as needed Must be able to work in outdoor environments and around heavy equipment
