Estio Training is thrilled to offer a new opportunity for a 1st Line Apprentice Support Engineer based in Stafford.

AN IDEAL 1ST LINE SUPPORT ENGINEER WILL HOLD THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • You will be a team player with a passion for IT.
  • Ideally you will have experience (or at least knowledge) of logging and responding to tickets or incidents both over the phone and via an email-based system.
  • You will have some experience of hardware and software-based issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You should have a good GCSE or equivalent in English and knowledge of other languages maybe a bonus.

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:

This is an opportunity to join a UK firm with over 20 years’ experience in various areas of IT, from development and support of their own lines of successful network security and digital display products to running managed services supporting Windows and Linux server environments.

AS A 1ST LINE SUPPORT ENGINEER, IN ADDITION TO OPENING AND INVESTIGATING TICKETS, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO HELP PERFORM A NUMBER OF DUTIES ON SERVERS AND SYSTEMS, THESE INCLUDE:

  • Responding to monitoring of systems, investigate and escalate if required
  • Checking systems are updated and that automated updates have been applied
  • Testing internal and client systems and software where required
  • Other regular checks to systems, servers and networks
