1st Officer

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid STCW certification
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a 1st Officer or similar role
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of navigation, safety, and security procedures
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work long hours and be on call as needed
• Physically fit and able to perform duties on deck in various weather conditions
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

• Assisting the Captain with navigation, safety, and security procedures
• Managing and supervising the deck crew, including assigning duties and providing training
• Maintaining and inspecting all safety equipment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
• Monitoring weather and sea conditions and making necessary adjustments to the ship’s course
• Coordinating with other departments, such as engineering and catering, to ensure smooth operations
• Maintaining accurate records and logs of the ship’s activities
• Conducting safety drills and training for crew members
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of cargo and ensuring proper stowage
• Communicating effectively with the Captain, crew members, and shore personnel
