REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to complete all tasks required for the A&P Avionics Technician
FAA A&P certification
3 years minimum experience as certified A&P
3 years minimum experience troubleshooting, installing and repairing avionics
Demonstrated knowledge of FAA standards as they relate to avionics
Experience with avionic manufacturers’ programming and diagnostic hardware and software tools
Demonstrated ability to correctly use basic shop mathematics and tools including wire crimpers, soldering iron, multimeter and other precision measurement tools
MS Office proficiency including Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Avionics training certificate or degree
ECAD software knowledge, such as SOLIDWORKS, for wiring schematics
Military, A&P and avionics experience
Fundamental understanding of analog and digital electronics including AC/DC/stepper motors, encoders, power supplies, strain gauges, load cells, transducers, amplifiers, signal conditioners and other actuating, measuring and DAQ equipmen

Responsibilities

ROLE

Enstrom is seeking an A&P mechanic with strong avionics and electrical experience. This position will support a range of activities with a focus on research & development (R&D) and certification projects. The candidate for this position must be experienced with all aspects of helicopters, from power plant to modern avionics. As a part of the R&D team, the candidate must be self-motivated, have an attention to detail and have effective communication skills.

TASKS

Troubleshoots, installs, inspects, tests, adjusts and repairs avionics in prototype and production helicopters and related test equipment
Completes helicopter airframe and powerplant adaptations to support avionics tasks, such as panel layouts and changes, transducer mounting and wiring
Prepares avionics and related test equipment for engineering and FAA certification testing
Performs engineering and FAA certification testing
Performs and maintains calibrations for avionics
Utilizes FAA standards, Enstrom requirements and manufacturer specifications including assembly and component drawings, wiring schematics and written procedures
Produces and maintains documents, test data, log entries and reports
Maintains company equipment and tools
Trains other workers. Serves as consultation resource for other workers. Adheres to all safety regulations. Performs other duties as required
