Description BASIC FUNCTION: Sets-up and operates CNC press brake to bend and form various sizes, shapes, and types of sheet metal parts as specified by part blueprints to meet quality and production standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Reads blueprints and production orders. Accurately uses a square, rule and protractor. Retrieves own parts and dies. Enters data into the machine's controller to create a program to run a part including entering gage data (x, r and z coordinates, bend allowances, gage types); entering ram data (tonnage control, positioning, speeds); and entering any detailed information necessary for another operator to run the job in the future (die choices, die positions, information vital to running the job successfully). Completes own setups. Verifies print to latest engineering revision and then verifies part is made to print specifications. Inspects part for any nonconformities including those of a cosmetic nature (i.e. scratches, dents, deformities). Arranges completed parts in an orderly fashion and moves finished parts to holding area. Keeps appropriate production records. Services press brake as required and performs preventive maintenance on equipment. Maintains cleanliness of work area and follows safe work practice rules. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required Shift: 5am-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday. Overtime availability on Friday is required. Requirements POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Three months commercial, vocational, or other specialized training beyond high school. Experience: Three to four years related work experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Manual Dexterity: Work requires moderate speed and accuracy. Physical Effort: Work requires mostly moderate but some heavy muscular effort or difficult work positions. Working Conditions: More frequent exposure to disagreeable features. Hazards: Injury may require a doctor's care. Time lost for part of a day may be to receive medical treatment.
