The Quality Assurance Technician will help develop and maintain Quality Assurance procedures, a HACCP plan, and product quality and wholesomeness, while adhering to specifications.  What You’ll Do As our 1st Shift Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll: * Support Quality Assurance function of business by assuring that process, product, and environment will be sanitary, wholesome, and consistent in quality. * Learn microbiological testing/plating procedures, prepare plates and swabs, plate products, and interpret results. * Monitor quality and volume of ingredients during processing. * Support adherence to hygiene and sanitation rules and complete daily checks as necessary * Make sure finished products have proper code date, recipes are being followed, ingredients are at proper temperature, ingredients are received in proper condition, etc. * Assist with plant inspections by Military, FDA, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and third-party audits. * Perform pre–operation inspections to monitor sanitation of plant. * Do daily periodic plant checks for proper weights including retail, private label and bulk items. * Gather data and complete documentation for plant production as assigned * Do weekly GMP inspections from a building, equipment, and utensil perspective  What You Bring to the Table * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training * Employee must be willing to be HACCP certified. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to follow HACCP and SQF programs. * Ability to follow all Food Safety procedures. Bonus Points for: * Food manufacturing quality assurance experience preferred. * HACCP Certified preferred.
