Our team enjoys a clean, growth focused environment with a Monday through Friday schedule.   Position:                      Paint Parts Prepper Reports To:                 Director of Operations Status:                         Hourly, Non-Exempt Shift:                           1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Pay Range:                18.00 - 23.00             BASIC WORKER FUNCTION: The Paint Parts Prepper prepares parts for painting by cleaning, sanding, and fixing surface imperfections. This ensures parts are ready for a high-quality paint finish.   GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASKS: * Clean and degrease parts before painting. * Inspect surfaces for rust, damage, or defects. * Sand and scrape surfaces to remove old paint or rough areas. * Fill dents, cracks, and imperfections. * Mask areas that should not be painted. * Help mix and prepare primer or paint. * Keep work area clean and organized. * Follow all safety rules and procedures. * Perform other duties as assigned.   REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures. * Good attention to detail. * Basic knowledge of surface prep or painting processes preferred. * Ability to use hand tools and sanding equipment. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Good hand-eye coordination.   QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or GED preferred. * Previous experience in painting, prep work, or manufacturing preferred.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to stand for long periods of time. * Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed. * Good vision for inspecting small surface defects. * Work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and paint materials. * Must be able to wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, etc.).
Responsibilities
The Paint Parts Prepper is responsible for cleaning, sanding, and fixing surface imperfections on parts to ensure a high-quality paint finish. Tasks include degreasing, masking, and assisting with primer and paint preparation.
