Description Job Summary: The Quality Control Lead is responsible for managing the overall quality control procedures throughout the plant. This role works closely with the QC Supervisor, Plant Manager and the Shift Supervisors regarding quality programs, product quality results, and process discrepancies. Responsibilities: Monitor Food Security, Good Manufacturing Practices Train employees on job requirements, hazards, and continued process improvement Direct and manage Processing Quality Team; interview, select, and train quality employees Evaluate various attributes of eggs by sampling them; document results. Communicate findings to Supervisor if results fall below an acceptable standard Work with Resident USDA Inspectors to ensure all processes and finished goods are in compliance Observe all stages of packaging to ensure eggs are properly packaged, labeled and loaded; ensure counts are correct for each customer order Carry out and document non-conformances and corrective actions Perform receiving inspection on incoming goods Inspect and calibrate monitoring equipment Maintain accuracy in all records Perform product food safety/quality related lab testing and be observant of supplies; notify Processing Quality Supervisor if supplies are low Other duties as assigned Requirements: Ability to work independently and lead a team Ability to take direction and follow detailed instructions Ability to adjust to changing circumstances, engaging team and work in a fast-paced environment Dependable and self-motivated Strong communication skills Continuously reviewing processes and results and providing feedback to managers Ability to identify, propose solutions, implement process improvements, monitor and adjust based on results Food manufacturing experience preferred Previous Quality Control experience preferred HACCP and SQF training preferred
