2025-073-01 Junior Group Leader in Cancer Prevention Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) is a leading comprehensive cancer center associated with Vall d’Hebron University Hospital that integrates translational and clinical research to tackle the most pressing challenges in cancer research and patient care. For more information, including a description of the research programs, please visit: www.vhio.net We invite applications from outstanding early-career investigators to establish an independent research program in Cancer Prevention. We welcome proposals from candidates with a PhD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) with strong postdoctoral record and potential for research independence; ability to attract competitive funding; and demonstrated expertise and excellence in the field of cancer prevention This position is targeted to candidates fulfilling the R3 – Established Researcher profile, including researchers transitioning to scientific independence as well as independent researchers in consolidation phases, in accordance with the European Commission research career framework. The successful candidate will be provided with laboratory space, a competitive start-up package, and access to computational infrastructure, state-of-the-art core units and facilities to develop their research proposal. They will be expected to work in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, in close interaction with clinical researchers within the context of our transversal taskforces. Additionally, they will benefit from the participation of VHIO in international consortiums and initiatives (eg: Cancer Core Europe, Cancer Prevention Europe and other initiatives), providing access to a broad network and career advancement opportunities Applicants should include a full CV, letter of intent, brief (4-page approx) research proposal for the next 5 years, and the names of at least two references. Responsibilities
