Location: Houston, TX (In-Person)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant who not only supports our current operations but also has the potential to grow into the role of Controller as our company continues to expand.
Job Summary
This is a full-time, in-person position at our Houston office. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and eager to take ownership of accounting functions while developing into a leadership role. Prior construction industry experience is a plus but not required. QuickBooks Desktop experience is required.
Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm (flexible scheduling available as needed).

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Work directly in QuickBooks Desktop to process transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Prepare and track contracts, lien waivers, and other project-related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Support leadership with budget tracking and financial analysis.
  • Perform general office duties as needed (phones, mail, filing, supplies, maintaining conference/design center organization).
  • Collaborate with project managers and leadership to ensure timely billing and vendor payments.

Qualifications

  • QuickBooks Desktop proficiency required.
  • High school diploma required; BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (construction background a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Adobe.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and see tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable with consistent follow-through.
  • Reliable transportation.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
