Description

Our Human Resources function is offering two Level 3 and one Level 4 apprenticeship opportunities across our People function. Through these apprenticeship opportunities you’ll build the foundations of your career by developing your knowledge, skills and behaviours through high-performing, meaningful work whilst working towards an industry-recognised qualification. You’ll contribute to the development and improvement of Nationwide’s processes, products and services in your department.
We’ll need you to build rewarding relationships across the organisation and externally to understand customer needs, resolve problems and support the delivery of the Society blueprint.
You’ll attend webinars, technical training, and be supported by an apprenticeship skills coach alongside your line manager and team to achieve your best.
Our Human Resources function, known as our People function, aims to have the most capable workforce. We’ll do this by differentiating ourselves as a purpose led and inspirational place to work whilst enhancing organisational capability through embedding of skills and behaviour changes, and improved progression for diverse talent.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be eligible to apply for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have right to work in the UK – if non-British, your current visa or immigration status must cover the duration of the apprenticeship which could span at least 20 months for the Level 3 roles and 26 months for the Level 4.
  • Have been living in the UK or EEA countries for the last 3 years
  • Not be enrolled in another apprenticeship or other government funded programme

    • If you are under the age of 19, you will need to have two GCSE’s at A-C/grade 9-4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language
Working in England 50%+ of the time is a requirement of the role

As per recent government announcement all apprentices, who were aged 19 and over at the start of their apprenticeship training (October 2025), will no longer be required to hold or achieve English and maths qualifications to pass their apprenticeship.

  • Apprentices who are aged 16 to 18 at the start of their training (October 2025), will still be required to achieve English and Maths qualifications to support their career progression.

Our Customer First behaviours are all about putting customers and members at the heart of how we work together. You can strengthen your application by showing the behaviours that resonate with you, and how you might have already demonstrated these.

  • Say it straight - This is about being honest and direct with good intent and saying what needs to be said in the room. It’s also about being clear, precise, and using language that we and, importantly, our customers and members can understand.
  • Push for better - This is about aiming high and constantly looking for better in how we work together and serve our customers and members.
  • Get it done - This is about prioritising what will have the greatest impact, being decisive and taking accountability for delivering on the end-to-end outcome.
