JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment and vehicles.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Onondaga Farms operates on land set aside for the Haldimand Tract, which includes six miles on each side of the Grand River; land promised to the Haudenosaunee (Hoe-dee-noshow-nee) people of The Six Nations, The Attawandaron (At-ah-won-der-on), and Anishinaabe (An-ish-in-aabe). We recognize this is the traditional territory of the Mohawk, Cayuga (Kye-yoo-ga), Seneca (Seh-neh-kah), Oneida (Oh-nigh-da), Tuscarora (Tusk-ahroar-ah), Wyandot (Wy-an-dot), Mississauga, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and Onondaga peoples

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain grounds, facilities and equipment ensuring they are ready for use
  • Inspect buildings and vehicles and identify, address or report hazards to Property Manager
  • Perform routine maintenance on facilities, equipment and machinery as directed
  • Safely operate equipment such as power mowers, chain saws, tractors, snow plows, snow blowers, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws and other equipment as instructed
  • Support construction or renovation projects as directed, and provide reports as required
  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed at all times, including safe operation of equipment and proper handling of chemicals
  • Conduct water testing as per Foundation standards [if certified]
