FUNCTION:

Ski Patrol is responsible for providing safety, first aid, education, and rescue services for the patrons of Kinosoo Ridge Resort.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in skiing and/or snowboarding.
  • First Aid (CSPS or EMR level or Advanced First Aid).
  • Strong risk management skills
  • Having your own skis or snowboard will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate a snowmobile in a controlled and safe manner.
  • Ongoing commitment to safety.
  • Will be required to work on weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Obtain a Criminal Record Check.
  • Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs., and push and pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Required to spend long periods of time outside in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to accidents and participate in investigations.
  • Provide care and treatment to injured guests.
  • Give recommendations to seek further medical aid or manage the guest until EMS arrives, when required.
  • Evacuate injured guests from the ski hill when required.
  • Educate staff and guests in accident prevention, while enforcing the Alpine Code of Responsibility.
  • Assist ambulance attendants.
  • Maintain first aid hut, equipment, and rescue gear.
  • Assist in managing slopes and trails.
  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required.
    Every employee shall complete and apply for designated training and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety legislation. Every employee shall take reasonable care to protect the health and welfare of themselves and other workers and cooperate with the employer in protecting the health and safety of all employees and contractors present on the worksite, as stated in the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
