2. STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR THE BUSINESS UNIT (25%)

  • Actively participates to evolve the business strategy for WSPS; bringing new opportunities to use technology, to drive efficiency and growth, to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board of Directors (e.g., customer needs, business/industry trends, solution innovation opportunities)
  • Provides strategic recommendations to the CEO and Senior Leadership on technology strategy based on sound analytics, revenue, and cost projections.
  • Develops plans aligned with WSPS strategy and oversees the implementation of the plans - seeking and incorporating relevant input/data from internal / external stakeholders
  • Recommends how technology can be used to enable broader reach in the development of new products or solutions to help drive innovation and WSPS’ ability to meet changing needs
  • Works with internal clients, to support optimization of processes and tools, including CRM enhancements, and recommended best practices to enable effective and efficient service delivery through technology.
  • Works to support IT cost and effort estimation for projects.

ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Director Digital Transformation, the Director Information Technology is responsible for system-wide technology planning and execution through the leadership of two teams: Business Systems and Infrastructure. The position works closely with senior leaders to develop strategic and operational plans in alignment with the WSPS strategy. The position provides direction for planning, prioritization, design, implementation, support, operations, and maintenance of all WSPS technology.
The Director oversees how WSPS can leverage technology, people, products and processes to expand health & safety impact and deliver greater customer value. The Director ensures the right resources are available and appropriately assigned to best meet organizational needs and provides the necessary support and resources to ensure a high-performing, well-developed, and engaged workforce. The core accountability for the Director is ensuring high quality services are provided to WSPS staff and customers, on time and within budget, resulting in high satisfaction and measurable success. As a WSPS leader, the Director builds strong relationships with key customers and external stakeholders. The Director has a strong understanding of needs and WSPS’ value proposition in helping them meet their business objectives.
