Posting: Probationary French Immersion Registered Early Childhood Educator (1.0 FTE) STJ
Duties to commence September 2, 2025
Duties:
Reporting to the Principal, the Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) will partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day Catholic early learning program. The RECE will provide supervision and age-appropriate programming, and will collaborate in the design of program, which will enhance children’s cognitive, physical, emotional and spiritual development.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Completion of a post-secondary education program in Early Childhood Education;
  • Registered member, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators;
  • Pastoral letter of reference attesting to active participation in the Catholic faith;
  • Recent experience as an ECE working in an Early Learning Centre or Daycare;
  • Experience planning and implementing age appropriate programs;
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Early Learning Program, including the Extended Day Program and related legislation;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a sensitive and courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the general public;
  • Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality;
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations and to take appropriate action in stressful and/or emergency situations, according to policies and procedures;
  • Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • A vulnerable sector check valid within 6 months from date of hire is a condition of hire with the Board.
