The Fort St. John Association for Community Living (FSJACL) is seeking an innovative and inspired support worker to build on the strength of a well-established organization. We are looking for someone who is committed to working with people and sets a high standard in the promotion of health, choice, and community inclusion. This position would include supporting the individuals we serve in all areas of their lives such as cooking, cleaning, yardwork, medication administration, community inclusion, and employment. Training is provided for these tasks. Tasks include: Assist with cooking, meal planning, and grocery shopping Support cleaning, laundry, and home organization Help with yardwork and basic home maintenance Provide medication reminders and support (as trained) Encourage community participation and social activities Assist with employment goals and job support Build daily living and life skills Offer emotional support and advocacy Maintain documentation and communication with care teams Shift: Shift: Rotating between days and evenings, weekdays and weekends based on individuals needs up to 37.5 hours per week – shifts can be topped up to 40 hours per week. QUALIFICATIONS: Class 4 Driver’s license must be to be obtained in the trial period of 3 months. Staff must have a valid Class 5 Drivers license with at least three years of Class 5 driving experience at the time of application. Lifting & Transferring Seizure Management training Crisis Prevention Intervention Medication administration This is a BCGEU unionized position, Grid Level 10. ($25.95-$29.76/ hour. These wages are based on seniority or equivalent experience. Applicants should be aware that they will be dealing with varying degrees of individual needs and abilities.
