Job Summary: As an Engine Mechanical System Engineer at Caterpillar, you will develop deep expertise of knowledge on Caterpillar’s products, technologies, processes, services and systems. Areas of responsibility include learning and following Caterpillar Engine Rating Development process and procedure, delivering the project to meet customer requirement, Global Regional Regulations as well as solving challenging engineering problems involving products, systems, and components using advanced simulation techniques and analysis. What You Will Do: Learn and follow Caterpillar Engine Mechanical Development process and procedure, deliver the project to meet customer requirement, Global Regional Regulations. According to project requirement, create engine test plan, analyze test data, optimize engine mechanical performance to meet engineering target, create engineering report, and communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units. Developing and executing validation plans for new engines, systems and components. Assist to contribute to the engine development of new products and processes; Provide customer technical support etc. Perform product and process maintenance for manufacturing, customer technical support etc. Education requirement: Bachelor’s degree or above in an accredited Engineering, Internal Combustion Engines, Vehicle Engineering or equivalent, good knowledge of internal combustion engine structure, engine performance, engine rating development What skills you will have: Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Explains the importance of accuracy in own function or unit. Identifies tasks or outputs that require accuracy and detail-level attention. Identifies the procedures for making sure that results are mistake-free. Describes consequences of errors within own unit or function. Technical Excellence: Uses a structured approach in analyzing and resolving technical problems. Seeks opportunities for continual learning to maintain technical competence in pursuit of technical excellence. Provides examples or case studies demonstrating technical excellence in actual business scenarios. Pursues, prepares for and assumes new technical assignments and challenges. Effective Communications: Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient. Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness. Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate. Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups. Problem Solving: Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder. Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information. Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.
