Description
Description OVID Napa Valley 2026 Harvest Internship OVID Napa Valley is located on Prichard Hill where we produce Bordeaux blends from our organically farmed, estate vineyard. In addition to those wines, we also make a white blend from grapes sourced throughout the state of California. Together, our 4-person production team focuses on mindful farming and making balanced wines that represent our site. During the entire year, but especially over the harvest months, we work closely with one another and value collaboration, open conversation, a drive to learn, experimentation and having fun. We’re looking to complete our 2026 harvest team by hiring two passionate and engaged individuals who complement our team dynamic. Our interns are involved in every aspect of the season. You will, for example, be sampling in the vineyard, working on the crush line, monitoring fermentation and wine chemistry, running the press, barreling down, and participating in decision-making conversations and tastings. Cap management is largely automated, which allows us to focus more intently on other tasks. Along with general harvest duties, we offer an opportunity to take on a research project of your own choosing. Other exposures include fun lunches, wine, great conversations, and an abundance of encouragement. We give this process careful consideration and want to offer a mutually beneficial experience so that applicants can be exposed to a variety of tasks, growth opportunities, and as much responsibility as they demonstrate they can manage. While we do require a previous harvest experience, we prioritize the following in assessing candidates: · Respect for all team members · Diverse backgrounds and perspectives · A willingness to be a part of the team · A positive attitude · Attention to detail · The ability to think ahead in anticipation of next steps · A sense of humor · Great communication skills This position will begin in early July and conclude in the month of November with a pay range of $24.00-$25.00/hr. To apply, please upload a PDF version of your resume and cover letter to and tell us a bit about yourself (e.g. travel, wines you like, sports, hobbies, why you want to be in the wine business). Requirements PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following: Walk, kneel, bend, and stand. Stand for extended periods of time. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Climb stairs. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is mainly performed in the cellar where there may be varying temperature conditions. The ability to stand and walk on concrete floors, catwalks, wet or uneven ground may be required. Noise levels are usually moderate but may be moderate to high at times. Floors may be wet and slippery, proper footwear is required. Work may include handling caustic/corrosive chemicals. The above reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
Responsibilities
Interns will be involved in every aspect of the harvest season, including vineyard sampling, working the crush line, monitoring fermentation and wine chemistry, operating the press, and barreling down. They will also participate in decision-making conversations and tastings, with an opportunity to undertake a self-chosen research project.
