Job Description The Role - We are looking for an Energy performance engineer internship. In this position at PIPG-GMTCK, he/she will learn and support energy engineers with the simulation using GM internal tool VERDE in MatLab and supporting driving range and fuel economy tests for balancing and optimization of fuel economy / driving range for a given vehicle type. The Energy Engineer intern will work with our Powertrain Engineers to balance fuel economy / driving range with drivability, and will work with the vehicle development team to choose tire properties, aerodynamic requirements, drag loss properties (brake, bearing, transmission, axle, etc.), electrical charging routines, noise and vibration effects, mass, and all other vehicle characteristics that are related to fuel economy. What You’ll Do - - Developing the matlab based simulation model and running the simulation: Fuel Economy, driving range and performance simulation - prepare/Plan/Execute the Vehicle testing for drivign Range, Fuel economy, coastdown, - Perform the data analysis – simulation and test data - Identifying the enablers to improve the fuel economy and driving range to make the vehicle more efficient Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) - Majors Required: STEM-related majors such as Mechanical, Automobile, Aeronautical or Electrical engineering, etc. Eligibility: -Graduates or students expected to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a 4-year accredited university by February 2026 - Language Proficiency: TOEIC score of 700 or higher • OPIC and TOEIC Speaking/Writing scores will be converted to TOEIC equivalents (OPIC: IM2 or above, TOEIC Speaking: Level 6 or above) • Graduates or expected graduates from overseas universities are exempt from submitting a TOEIC score -GPA: Minimum cumulative GPA of B (3.0/4.5 scale) or higher -Must be available for full-time internship -Preference will be given to veterans and individuals eligible for employment protection under applicable laws What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) - - Basic knowledge about the vehicle systems, Fuel, Battery, electrical machines (motor/generator) - Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms - Knowledge in MatLab / Simulink / INCA - Valid driver’s license and ability to operate test vehicles - Related job knowledge in powertrain development, emissions testing, measurement engineering, Hybrid or alternative propulsion, dynamometer testing, analytical modeling - Good communication skills in English How We Hire - 1.
