Description Concept: The maternal health landscape in Massachusetts is evolving with MassHealth’s recent move to cover doula services through pregnancy, delivery, and the first year of the infant’s life. This shift has significantly changed access to doula services. In response, DotHouse Health, Codman Square Health Center, and Mattapan Community Health Center have received funding from Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health to launch a doula fellowship program aimed at strengthening the doula workforce and supporting the vulnerable pregnant population in Dorchester and Mattapan. In the past year, we developed a specialized curriculum and enrolled 10 community members who were financially supported to receive doula training and preceptorship, while also pursuing additional certifications to become Community Health Workers and Certified Lactation Counselors. Recently, we recruited an additional 10 community members who will receive the same training, preceptorship, and opportunity to pursue these additional certifications. All participants were recruited from the Dorchester and Mattapan communities to ensure culturally congruent care for our health centers’ diverse patient population. To support a collaborative approach to fellowship design that aligns with patients’ needs and the Massachusetts-based doula community at large, we are conducting an evaluation of the fellowship program to assess its impact. Role Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support the evaluation of the Dottapan Doula Fellowship. This position involves implementing an evaluation framework to assess the fellowship program’s outcomes and impact. This is a hybrid role under the guidance of the fellowship program coordinator, designed for someone passionate about maternal health and health equity. Requirements Key Responsibilities ? Implement an evaluation framework to assess the Doula Fellowship Program’s effectiveness in addressing maternal health disparities. ? Distribute data collection tools, such as surveys and interview guides, for participants, patients and program leaders. ? Collect and analyze data on program outcomes, including participant progress, patient satisfaction, and community impact. ? Present evaluation findings and recommendations to program leadership to guide future program development.

Responsibilities

The individual will implement an evaluation framework to assess the effectiveness and impact of the Dottapan Doula Fellowship Program on maternal health disparities. Key tasks include distributing data collection tools like surveys and interviews, analyzing resulting data, and presenting findings and recommendations to program leadership.
